Hard Drive Overwrite Function Offers Exceptional Value and Superior Ease of Use
RAMSEY, NJ and HACKENSACK, NJ - January 29, 2007 - Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), a leading independent office equipment-testing lab, awarded Fall 2006 "Pick of the Year" honors to KONICA MINOLTA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS U.S.A., INC. (KONICA MINOLTA) for "Outstanding MFP Security Solution". In a category that has emerged as among the most important in the document imaging industry, BLI's "Pick" award recognized KONICA MINOLTA for its "Hard Drive Overwrite Function with Optional Encryption", which rose above the competition in several key areas, including ease of use, functionality, and value.

KONICA MINOLTA earned "Pick" honors in the MFP security solution category for offering outstanding value. "KONICA MINOLTA is the only vendor of the many whose security kits we have evaluated to offer its hard drive overwrite function as a standard feature," said BLI Associate Editor Tracie Hines. "Because of this, by purchasing the encryption option, buyers of KONICA MINOLTA products can get both hard drive overwrite and encryption for a lower price than the few other kits that offer both capabilities."
KONICA MINOLTA's Hard Drive Overwrite security function erases data stored on the device's Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or memory by overwriting it with a series of characters and comes standard on the company's bizhub OP product line. Overwrite is performed immediately upon completion of all copy, print, scan and fax jobs. KONICA MINOLTA offers an extra level of security with an optional hard drive encryption kit using 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).
